Three-Day Birding Tour Colombo

{tab Tour Description}

This three day Birding Tour enables you to witness our feathered friends of the sky like never before. Starting at Waikkal and ending in Colombo, this tour guarantees that you get a birding experience you will not forget anytime soon. To achieve this, we have arranged a Boat Tour and Nature Walk for interesting explorations.

In Waikkal, the Boat Tour gives you a wonderful opportunity to see birds in their habitat, in terrain that remains largely untouched by the local communities. Birds to look out for include: the Common Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, Purple Coot, Painted Stork and the Stork-Billed Kingfisher.

The Anawilundawa Nature Walk in the Sanctuary will provide a different perspective with you submerged in an environment that is favoured by hundreds of species of birds, making it their nesting and breeding ground. BIrds like the White Ibis, Egret, Stork, Open-bill, Great Cormorant, Purple Swamp-hen and the Pheasant tailed Jacana - are just some of the birds that can be sighted on your walk. Migrant birds are seen between October and April, while most endemic and resident birds can be observed throughout the year.

The Birding Tour is an opportune experience for avid birdwatchers to plunge themselves in a rich bio diversity of avi fauna, of both endemic and migrant birds in Sri Lanka.
